Atmospheric Sciences Field Studies of Convection Class Experience Fund (Fund #336830)

Every summer, Atmospheric Science undergraduates have the opportunity to take ATMS 324, Field Studies of Convection, a 12-14 day field experience where students learn to forecast and recognize the structural features characteristic of supercellular convection, organized mesoscale convective systems, frontal squall lines, and other thunderstorms, and relate these structures to theory and conceptual models. Donations to this fund help defray the cost of the trip.  Individual awards to students are normally in the amount of $500, about half the cost of the trip excluding meals.
