Research Interests

Within the research area of satellite remote sensing, I have been focusing on conception and interpretation of cloud climatologies, the physics of cloud-aerosol interactions and their role in the Earth’s climate system. My current research primarily includes validating a cloud product for the EOS-Terra Multi-angle Imaging SpectroRadiometer (MISR), exploring the macrophysical properties of cumulus clouds over the ocean, and examining the impact of cloud screening on aerosol retrieval from space. The majority of my work entails the analysis of an enormous volume of satellite data, especially from the instruments on the EOS Terra. I am also actively involved into three projects: the Rain in Cumulus over the Ocean Experiment, the Gulf of Mexico Atmospheric Composition and Climate Study, and NASA’s Modeling, Analysis, and Prediction program.
