The first Department of Atmospheric Sciences' FARM Radar Institute, sponsored by the National Science Foundation, will be held in-person at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign campus on June 18 – July 1, 2023.

Using the Department of Atmospheric Sciences' FARM radars and other instrumentation, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Learn about radar operations and theory
  • Learn about planning field campaigns
  • Learn about observation strategies and radar scan modes
  • Plan and execute a small field campaign
  • Learn about analysis techniques
  • Analyze DOW and COW radar data

Applications are open to undergraduate students. Students who have completed two years of college course work and are majoring in a science, technology, engineering or math field are encouraged to apply. No prior research experience is required.
