The complete renovation of Natural History Building on the campus of the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign is now complete! During the past three years, the building was completely gutted and rebuilt inside, at a cost of $72M. We have been fully operational in the building since the Fall 2017 term. NHB is the home for the School of Earth, Society, and Environment (SESE), and its three departments (the Department of Geology; the Department of Geography and GIS; and the Department of Atmospheric Sciences), and houses offices as well state-of-the-art research labs and classrooms, and a spectacular SESE Student Commons. SESE events are regularly held in the Natural History Building.
