Biography

I am a second-year graduate student at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign working on improving our understanding of soil moisture impacts on precipitation intensity across the Central United States. In 2022, I graduated magna cum laude from The Ohio State University with Bachelors of Science in Atmospheric Science, Spatial Analysis, and a Minor in Music. While attending, I assisted Mr. Jim Degrand in his research on the urban heat island by installing sensor stations at urban sites to measure a variety of atmospheric and soil characteristics. I also worked in conjunction with Bridgewater State University on a prototypical Raspberry Pi-based sensor module.

Currently, I am working on laying the foundation for my thesis. I'm also assisting in a suitability analysis on agroforestry in the Midwest, which will help identify land that may not be fit for traditional agriculture, but could be use to produce other resources such as wood, nuts, and fruits.
